Türkiye SMA Foundation in Earthquake Zone for Monitoring Study

Immediately after the earthquake that took place in Kahramanmaraş and affected 11 provinces; We prepared our emergency action plan for SMA patients living in the region and implemented our Long-Term Support Program. We have provided and continue to deliver the support we provide to them in matters they need, from medical supplies to transportation, from food and clothing to rent support.

Natural disasters create a more challenging process for disabled and bedridden patients. The effects of the earthquake were very devastating and we know that; It will take a long time for our provinces to be restored and for the trauma to heal.

We were in the earthquake zone to determine the current situation and needs of our patients living in the region with a monitoring study. We visited homes with minor damage or families staying in tents and containers. We both listened to the process and expectations of families and delivered our support packages.

To summarize the results of our work, which we started on April 9 and lasted for 10 days, in one sentence; Individuals with SMA who continue to live in the region need continuous support for their needs, which must be met regularly.

Scope of work;

Visited Provinces: Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep, Osmaniye, Hatay, Şanlıurfa, Mardin, Malatya, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Adana.
